Since the early rise of electronic dance music, the city of London played a vital role in bringing this music to the people through its large amount of important nightclubs of all sizes. However, up till recently, there was still room for a big multi-purpose venue that could house a large rave as well as being the backdrop for a theatre piece or a car show. The people behind Printworks filled this gap when their venue opened its doors in 2017. Ever since it has been at the forefront of the city’s nightlife.
Situated in the eastern part of London in an old newspaper printing factory, its huge, industrial halls fit perfectly with the pounding nature of electronic dance music. Besides offering a unique clubbing experience with some of the most in-demand DJs as well as local talent the venue is used for a wide variety of cultural activities such as arts, fashion, food, dance events as well as film screenings which have attracted an international crowd. In 2020 Printworks will break new ground by bringing their concept to the festival world. For the 10th anniversary of Extrema Outdoor Belgium, the festival will team up with the emblematic London venue for their first-ever international festival appearance.
Printworks London will take over our mainstage (Distrikt 5) during the 3 days of the festival. You can expect one of the biggest line-ups we’ve had to this date.
